If you want to have a go at styling and building a CMS based website for yourself you could do a lot worse than to try Joomla. This is an Open Source solution which we have used a number of times, including for developing our own website!

Newsletters/Mass Email: We installed Acyba's Extension (Enterprise Version) for a Members Only club whose Chief Exec wanted a robust and cost-effective solution for sending Newletters to upwards of 1,000 Members by email. It's as easy to install as it is to use, fully configurable, and provides all of the reporting the client desired. |

Run Videos: JoomlaWorks' Extension is particularly friendly for our non-techie clients as it allows the running of many types of video files (either from a local server or from a number of well-known external sources) by the insertion of simple tags into content articles. If you have an image you want to display by default rather than a blank screen just name it the same as your video file and - as if by magic - it will appear.

Build a Custom Search: Solid System's Custom Properties Extension is a little gem! Easily define your search parameters and values, assign them to content articles and off you go.

Photo Gallery Display: Levente Hunyadi's Sigplus Extension provided a simple solution for tidying up galleries of photos which people wanted to share but which had "growed and growed" to the extent that nobody could be bothered to work their way through them any more. Now they can quickly scroll through thumbnail galleries and expand only the images they are interested in.
